Brief History
The Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. (FCSCI) was organized shortly after World War II by a group of concerned Filipino-American living in Vallejo, California. The FCSCI was incorporated in 1946 and became a non-profit service and social entity dedicated to the many Filipino-Americans who found mutual support, amicable camaraderie, and cultural conservation within it's growing ranks.
From the handful of dedicated founders, the FCSCI has grown to become a recognized body in Solano County and State of California. The FCSCI continues to adhere to its ongoing programs such as: scholarship award, Pista Sa Nayon and many other cultural celebrations, and charitable/humanitarian projects, for better development of our community and the community. To view a more detailed timeline click here.
Goals and Objectives
To foster unity among the Filipino-Americans in and around Solano County
To represent the Filipino-Americans where justice has not been accorded to them
To involve the youth so that they may feel a sense of belonging
To provide cultural education to our youth so that they can learn the history and culture of their motherland
To provide assistance to our seniors
To seek and involve Filipino-Americans leaders to render voluntary services for our community
To maintain a Filipino-American Cultural Center that meets the needs of all Filipino-Americans
To celebrate our Culture by having special event like Pista Sa Nayon, etc
Programs
FCSCI and DOR Unite for Inclusive Career and Wellness Fair
The Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. (FCSCI), in co-sponsorship with the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), proudly hosted a special Career and Health Fair on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Filipino Community Center, 611 Amador Street, Vallejo, CA, in recognition of the 80th annual National Disability Employment and Awareness Month (NDEAM).
Youth Mentoring
Programs and events that help our youth to develop their aptitudes and inclinations in cultural, academic, athletics, music and other recreational activities.
Tea Dance for Fellowship and Wellness
An afternoon tea dance for seniors combines light physical activity, social engagement, and relaxation to support overall health and well-being. With benefits like improved mobility, cognitive stimulation, emotional balance, and community connection, these events offer a fun and holistic way for seniors to stay active, happy, and connected. Sundays, 5-8 pm.

Youth Cultural Dance Workshops
Filipino youth cultural dance lessons preserve and celebrate traditional dances like Tinikling and Pandanggo sa Ilaw, teaching young participants the rich history, rhythmic movements, and significance behind each performance. These lessons foster a deep appreciation for Filipino heritage while enhancing coordination, discipline, and community engagement.
Kids Skate Day
The Philippine Cultural Committee’s Skate Day and Skating Competition, inspired by a 14-year-old skater, transformed concerns about safety into a celebration of resilience, confidence, and community. By embracing non-traditional events, we created a space where kids could learn, fall, and gain the courage to fly—proving that empowering youth leads to stronger, more engaged communities.
Senior Safety Programs with VPD
Vallejo leaders held a community forum to discuss public safety, economic development, and city initiatives, fostering transparency and engagement. Officials addressed resident concerns and outlined plans for the city’s growth.
