FCSCI and Vallejo Sister City Association Showcase Global Connections at Solano County Fair

VALLEJO, CA [June 12, 2025] The Filipino Community of Solano County Inc partnered with the Vallejo Sister City Association to bring  the world to Solano County during the 2025 county fair, in the cultural pavilion to showcase the city’s seven sister city relationships spanning multiple continents.

The collaborative effort between the two organizations created a vibrant display that highlighted both Vallejo’s international partnerships and the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino community. Fair attendees had the opportunity to learn about Vallejo’s international partnerships and the association’s mission to “promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation – one individual, one community at a time.”

The cultural pavilion provided visitors with information about each of Vallejo’s seven sister cities worldwide, while also celebrating the Filipino community’s contributions to Solano County’s diverse cultural landscape. This partnership demonstrated how local cultural organizations and international relationship-building efforts can work together to foster understanding and appreciation of global diversity.

“These sister city relationships represent more than ceremonial partnerships,” said a representative from the association. “They create real opportunities for our residents to engage with different cultures, learn from one another, and build lasting friendships that transcend borders. Working with the Filipino Community of Solano County in the cultural pavilion perfectly exemplifies this spirit of cultural collaboration and mutual understanding.”

The Vallejo Sister City Association’s presence at the fair underscored the organization’s commitment to community outreach and education about global citizenship. Through cultural exchanges, student programs, and community events, the association works year-round to strengthen ties between Vallejo and its international partners.

The sister city program has historically served as a grassroots diplomacy initiative, allowing ordinary citizens to participate in building international relationships based on mutual understanding and cooperation rather than political considerations.
