FCSCI Leaders Shine: 2025 Women of the Year Honorees

BENICIA, CA [October 24, 2025] – The Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. (FCSCI) proudly announces that two of its distinguished leaders, President Annie Frias Ramos and Philippine Cultural Committee Chair for Vallejo Pista sa Nayon, Jennie Mojica, have been honored with the 2025 “Women of the Year” Award by Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA-08).

The recognition took place during Congressman Garamendi’s 12th Annual Women of the Year Awards Ceremony, where 54 women from California’s 8th Congressional District were celebrated for their outstanding leadership and lasting contributions to their communities.

“As a member of Congress, I pride myself on uplifting the outstanding constituents of our district. Every year, I’m honored to celebrate the remarkable women here in California’s 8th District who make up the backbone of our community,” said Congressman Garamendi.

“These women come from every part of our district and from diverse backgrounds. They work in many different fields, but each is united by the profound impact they have on our community and the people around them. It is truly an honor to recognize them.”

This year’s honorees, Annie Frias Ramos and Jennie Mojica, exemplify the spirit of service, leadership, and dedication that define the Filipino-American community in Solano County.

Ramos, who serves as President of the Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc., has long been recognized for her steadfast leadership, community advocacy, and decades of service to Filipino-Americans throughout the region. Her tireless efforts have strengthened local partnerships, advanced health and education initiatives, and promoted cultural pride within the community.

Mojica, as Philippine Cultural Committee Chair for Vallejo Pista sa Nayon, has demonstrated exceptional leadership in preserving and promoting Filipino heritage through cultural programming and community collaboration. Her work has helped showcase Filipino talent and strengthen cultural awareness throughout Solano County and beyond.

“Their commitment and passion for service merit this recognition, and through this award, their contributions will be preserved and documented for generations in the official Congressional Record in Washington, D.C.,” Garamendi said.

The Filipino Community of Solano County, Inc. also proudly acknowledges that Dr. Rozzana Verder-Aliga and Dinah Villanueva-Ryan, both current FCSCI Board Members, were recipients of Congressman Garamendi’s 2024 Women of the Year Award. Their continued service and leadership further underscore the deep and ongoing contributions of FCSCI’s members to the broader Solano County community.
