Filipino Community Center Celebrates 9th Anniversary of Weekly Afternoon Tea Dance

VALLEJO, CA [August 10, 2025] – On Sunday, August 10, the Filipino Community Center commemorated the ninth anniversary of its beloved Afternoon Tea Dance—a community event held every Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Filipino Community Center, located at 611 Amador Street in Vallejo.
Established in 2016, the Tea Dance has grown into a cherished wellness initiative that fosters physical activity, emotional wellbeing, and social connection—especially for older adults and multigenerational families. The program reflects the Center’s long-standing mission of serving the Filipino-American community through inclusive, culturally-rooted, and health-conscious programming.
Each Sunday, participants gather to enjoy live music, dancing, and light refreshments in a welcoming and supportive environment. More than a recreational pastime, the Tea Dance offers an uplifting space to support mental health, reduce isolation, and encourage joyful movement at any age.
“Our Afternoon Tea Dance is a unique blend of tradition, culture, and wellness,” said a representative from the Center. “It has become a vital way for community members to stay connected, active, and engaged—both physically and emotionally.”
The event is open to all and remains one of the Center’s most impactful and consistent offerings, thanks to a dedicated network of volunteers and supporters.
